Melbourne International Jazz Festival
Taking a modernist approach we created a bold typographic mark and a key graphic device. The device is representative of spiraling complex sound – at times fractured, multi-dimensional and layered. The device was created with flexibility in mind and rolled out to unify the myriad of artist imagery. In creating the key photography for the program cover, we looked to classic jazz sleeves and staged a live gig to capture the experience
Loving the circle graphic around the images, reminds me a lot of BBC Radio 1, which isn’t a bad thing, it fits in with the whole music sound. The images arent the typical blues that you think when it’s with jazz, it’s fun, exciting, having a good time.
Colours aren’t in your face, it’s a nice pastel pallet. Also I like the examples of it being put across a range of media and not just a poster, website, logo etc. You see it across billboards, newspapers to the tickets and badge pass.
Overall a great brand and a studio to keep an eye one.
This brand for Don Belisario by Infinite is just stunning, the characters, the family, the application across the board has been done so well.
It gives a real family appeal to the place

Hi all,
It’s finally here, the weekend, no more time in an office looking out the window missing all the sun, it’s time to finally enjoy it!
Just an overview of things for todays post, firstly its the Olympics, I used hate the logo but seeing it being put across all types of media and seeing the graphics put on banners, t-shirts, cars, posters it’s really a great ‘brand’ seeing it in the big picture, Creative Review have just released an issue dedicated to the Olympics and is worth checking out.

Second is Mr.Cup who runs the great blog, Graphic-Exchange he has gave some sneak peak images of some wooden type in the works, and I look forward to seeing the final product!

Finally for today 1hundred. I’ve been waiting for along time for some news of when this would go live, but its finally came and I look forward to seeing more products from them, as it is a very limited amount on offer, the whole hand made process and limited edition run makes it extra special and can’t wait to see what comes from them.

Quicksilver, one of my favourite brands. This video is a nice little piece of brand development for the audience, the surfers and there waves. Helping to meet the needs of there customers by helping the environment which they rely on and at the same time create products for them.
Another brand post. Espresso Republic who seem to make coffee for the true coffee lovers. It’s great to see it’s image put across different applications and not just the standard business card / packaging. Create by Salih Kucukaga

Lastly is a re-brand for beer called Indio. Bulletproof did the rebrand and they really brought it up to the times, go check it out and see for yourself
Next is a typeface called Newman, created by Stuart Geddes and Tristan, which was used for a book they got commissioned to create! Check out the article here
Woah! Great branding across there promotional material! The Aussie’s are really cracking out some quality design work!
Cornwell check them out for more goodness =]
US SpeedSkating. The team got a brand new look last year by the guys at Struck.
A great example of not only a good looking logo but also how it has been applied to the uniforms and how it will be used on promotion material. The fact that this isn’t so overly American in your face. It’s clean, professional, a serious sports team who by there right from winning 85 Olympic medals, are not people who’d take lightly in a competition.

Came across this wonderful little fella on the Graphic Exchange, (I highly recommend you bookmark this website if you haven’t already) a nice little promo piece that you can actually make something, which you can see is a lovely little rabbit! Would love to have this just to populate my desk at work.
Great use of 2 colour print and die cutting on beer matt board adds that rural market feel to it. Australia have some amazing creative minds and I just seem to be coming across a lot lately, shall try and make an effort to share more.
